Rock Buns
Ingredients
Flour 8oz Fat 4oz
Sugar 3oz
1 egg
Dried fruit 4oz
Mixed spice 1tsp A little milk
pinch of salt
Cooking method
Put the flour and salt into a sieve. Shake it into a bowl
Mix in the fat with your fingers until it
is like bread crumbs
Add
the sugar, mixed spice, dried fruit and beaten egg.
Add drops of milk making sure that the mixture stays firm.
Use spoons to form the bun shapes on a flat baking tray.
Pre-heat oven to 220C or 200C in a fan oven; gas
mark 7.
Bake for ten minutes.
Remove from oven.
Gently
push the top of each bun. They will spring back up if cooked.
Cool on a wire rack.
