Before Day One.
I was so excited about going to Churchtown. I packed everything the day before I went. It was fine weather.
Day One Wednesday 11th April
I was still excited about my holiday. I finished my packing this morning. It was sunny and warm.
I caught the bus to Plymouth so I could catch the train to Bodmin Parkway in Cornwall. I caught the train at 14.41 (2.41pm) and it left on time.
I arrived at Bodmin Parkway with my stuff at Bodmin Parkway train station. I saw the Churchtown minibus.
Churchtown is a holiday centre for disabled people to take their holiday. It is near Lostwithiel in Cornwall. It is a great place to go, as the people there are very friendly.
The gentlemen that met me off the train were called John and Jamie. They greeted me with a smile and helped me with my luggage. We then travelled to Churchtown.
When I arrived at Churchtown I rang home to say I arrived safely. I went to the desk and checked in. The staff on the care team took me to my room. I then unpacked. I was given my key and then I got settled in and met the other guests.
I settled in quickly.  At  6pm (18.00) we had our tea. The food there was very good.
After tea we all went down to the lounge downstairs for the Churchtown Chat, which is the meeting held on the first night of your holiday explaining the rules and procedures like what to do if the fire alarm went off and tell the guests about the call system and activities.
We went to the local pub the Crown Inn for a drink as we have no bar at Churchtown like when there was when I was there last time I was there. Afterwards we all chilled out and then retired to bed.
Day Two Thursday 12th April
I got up early at 7.30 and got dressed. We had breakfast at 8.30am as this is what time breakfast is at Churchtown.
The activity for today was to go to Lanhydrock Garden which is up the road from Churchtown. It is run by the National Trust. There were lots of flowers and I took lots of photographs. We explored the gardens and then the woods in the afternoon. It was a good day out, and it was warm. Everyone enjoyed it.
In the evening we had a choice of activities. Most of them went to the pub and a couple of us stayed in and did karaoke. I sang most of the songs.
Day Three Friday 13th April
Today we went to Trewithian Gardens, as it is a place I have never been to before. I took lots of photos and had fun exploring. There was lots of flowers out in bloom, as it was the spring. Trewithian Gardens in in the Falmouth area.
In the afternoon we went to Truro, Cornwall's county town. We went shopping and to the cathedral. It was wet in the afternoon and fine in the morning.
In the evening there was a choice of activities. I went on the walk, and one or two other guests went with me and a couple of volunteers. I have never explored the grounds of Churchtown properly before.  It was good. I figured out how to get in and out of the maze there.
Day Four Saturday 14th April
I got up a little earlier, as I was having a shower. I got up at 6.45am.
We had a choice between Heligan Gardens or Looe. Two guests chose to go to Heligan Gardens and the rest chose to go to Looe. Heligan Gardens is what overlooks the village of Mevagissey, Cornwall. I bought gifts for the family and myself.
In the evening a majority of us took part in a quiz and got into teams. My team won the quiz.
Day Five Sunday 15th April
We had a choice of activities again. Two guests did abseiling and the rest of us went to Cardinham Woods then Trago Mills. I took black and white pictures as I used a black and white film. I also used my digital camera like I did on the other days.
In the evening I went for a swim in the pool at Churchtown.
Day Six Monday 15th April
We went to the Eden Project today. It is in an old quarry not far from Churchtown. It was great. There was lots of tulips in bloom. I took lots of photos and bought a few things.  It was a good day.
We chilled out in the evening.
Day Seven Tuesday 17th April
We had a choice of activities today. Most of us went on a walk along the Camel Trail and to Padstow. Two others went canoeing.
In the evening we had a party, as it is the last night of the holiday. There was a karaoke and disco. There was also a buffet. Everyone had a good time. I packed most of my stuff.
Day Eight Wednesday 18th April
Today was the last day and finished all my packing. I was sad that it all ended. I had a good time there and made lots of friends.
Two other gentlemen who worked at Churchtown dropped me off and saw me onto the train back to Plymouth. They were nice gentlemen. They were called Phil and Nick. They were nice guys.  As I was leaving Churchtown I rang home to say I was on my way home.
It was a memorable holiday. I enjoyed it and took lots of photographs.
